Participating in the Exabytes “I Want a MacBook Air” Contest, and this is my review on their new site. Received the email from Exabytes the other day, and after some time’s “exploring”, finally, I put all my opinions together here.
The 1st thing impressed my eyes is that the new site is more compatible for widescreen browsers, the site is horizontal centered, so, it looks more comfortable than the current one. And also, the home page is kinda simple and fresh, and it’s easy to find latest information, e.g. promotions, announcements.
The 2nd big facelift is the drop down menu, I’d say this improvement is AWESOME! Cos you can easily find the links to the services/products you’re interested in, it’s more intuitive than the current design. In addition, in the new design, web hosting products and other services like email, domain are separated into 2 categories, in this case, there will be less confusion there.
3rd, more details on product page. when you move your cursor over those small icons placed right beside the features, you will see descriptions/explanations there. It’s very helpful to these people who are not familiar with these terminologies.
Apart from the improvements, I have one suggestion to the design of the front page, since browsers can easily find the links to the products/services via the drop down menu, then there would be no need to list all services in the home page again, replace it with other important information or links, for example, link to live chat support.
Cos the site hasn’t finished yet, thus, these are only things I can spit among the new site. Hope it helps.

Blog終於成功的轉到新的空間了，總體感覺真得不錯！尤其在速度方面，要比DreamHost快很多！哈哈，而且價格也算OK，不會貴的很離譜。可能唯一的缺陷是他們用的是cPanel的control panel，這樣建立multiple sites的時候就會變成一個主要的site，其他的都是under這個site，在連接上會體現為sub-domains的形式，當然可以用其他的域名，呵呵，只是不那麼獨立的感覺。
